Earthquake Hits Colombia Days After Presidential Inauguration

Colombia was struck Monday by one of the strongest earthquakes recorded in the country in the past decade. The 7.4-magnitude quake, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), was centered near San José del Palmar in the department of Chocó and left at least 82 people dead, while causing widespread destruction across western Colombia. The death toll is still being updated.
