Guterres Urges Global Support for Syria's Reconstruction
UN Secretary-General says rebuilding Syria depends on international solidarity, political transition and respect for the country's sovereignty
Syria is entering one of its most decisive moments since the outbreak of the civil war in 2011. During his first visit to the country since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, UN Secretary-General António Guterres described the current period as a "moment of possibility" and urged the international community to turn it into a coordinated effort to rebuild the country and strengthen regional stability.
