On Monday, September 28, the United States government formally revoked the 2024 regulations that expanded the interpretation of Title IX, the 1972 federal law prohibiting sex-based discrimination in federally funded education programs. The decision formally restores the regulatory framework established during Donald Trump’s first administration, which had already been the basis for federal enforcement since the beginning of 2025.
