The US consumer inflation rate slowed more than expected in June, offering encouraging news for households, businesses, and policymakers. The improvement was driven largely by a sharp decline in energy prices, particularly gasoline, easing pressure on the cost of living and strengthening hopes that inflation may finally be moving toward a more sustainable path.
