In an automotive industry full of founders who became brands, few have left as lasting an influence as Nicola Romeo. Born on April 28, 1876, in the town of Sant’Antimo, near Naples, the Italian engineer and businessman did not create Alfa Romeo from scratch, but he was responsible for transforming it into something far greater than just a car manufacturer. It was under his leadership that the identity that still defines the Italian brand today emerged.
