Russia Election Under Pressure: How the Vote Is Controlled

The Russian parliamentary election ended with a decisive victory for United Russia, the party aligned with President Vladimir Putin. According to the Central Election Commission, the party won 57.83% of the votes counted and 355 of the 450 seats in the State Duma. The result preserves the Kremlin’s constitutional majority in Parliament.
