The images coming from Nepal on Saturday, September 5, no longer tell only the story of a devastating flood. They show the scale of a catastrophe that continues to produce deaths, disappearances and isolated communities more than a week after a mass of ice and rock struck the Trishuli River valley, triggering a combination of water, mud and debris that destroyed villages, infrastructure and power-generation facilities near the border with China.
