The New Discovery Expands Tehran’s Energy Wealth, But Exposes The Challenge Of Turning Reserves Into Power
Iran has announced the discovery of more than 7.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in a field in the southern province of Fars. According to Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, around 5.7 trillion cubic feet would be recoverable. In cubic meters, that amounts to approximately 212.4 billion cubic meters discovered and 161 billion cubic meters considered recoverable.
