Italy has decided to maintain border controls on travelers arriving from Spain until at least August 15, rejecting pressure from Madrid to lift the measure. The dispute began after a mass arrival of migrants from Morocco in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, in northern Africa, and quickly developed into a broader argument over security within the European Union.
