Six days after the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck Venezuela, the emergency has entered a new phase. While search and rescue operations continue in the hardest-hit areas, the United Nations warns that the challenge now extends beyond finding survivors. Ensuring access to shelter, safe water, healthcare and child protection has become the immediate priority.
