Global Hunger Falls, But Food Justice Remains Distant

For the third consecutive year, global hunger has declined. According to the State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2026 (SOFI 2026) report, produced by five United Nations agencies, 7.8% of the world’s population experienced hunger in 2025, equivalent to approximately 645 million people.
